About Kory
Kory and his advisory team create comprehensive financial plans for clients with a variety of backgrounds. Kory takes pride in coaching clients to make well-informed financial decisions, allowing them to achieve their short- and long-term financial goals. He believes that the key to creating meaningful relationships with his clients is rooted in the ability to listen, understand, and lead with empathy.
Before becoming a financial planner, Kory spent most of his career in the field of education, as both a coach and musical performer. During his leisure time on tour, he became interested in financial planning, which sparked a passion for reading investment and estate planning literature and developing a strong understanding of financial planning concepts.
Given Kory’s musical background, outside of work he continues to perform recreationally and serves as a vocal ensemble coach and clinician for singing groups and festivals around the country. He currently serves as music director for the Fog City Singers, a San Francisco–based chorus that sings a wide variety of vocal genres, including a heavy influence in barbershop music. In his spare time, Kory loves to host wine and poker nights with friends and family, and volunteers at the local animal shelter as a dog handler.
Education and Professional Milestones
- Pepperdine University - music education degree and California teaching credential
- University of Southern California - master’s degree in choral conducting
- Spent 11 years singing countertenor professionally in the Grammy award–winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer
- Held roles as assistant music director and education manager
